This beginner boating class will give you the knowledge needed to obtain a boat license and the FWC Safety Certification also accepted in many states. • Know Your Boat-- Types of boats; different uses of boats; outboard, stern-drive, and inboard engines; jet drives.
• BEFORE YOU GET UNDERWAY-- Boat’s Capacity, Float Plan, Per-Departure Check, Trailering, Fueling, Maintenance & Accessories, Preventing Theft, Lines and Knots.
• Boat Safety Equipment - Personal flotation devices ("life jackets"); fire extinguishers; sound-producing devices; visual-distress signals; dock lines and rope; first aid kit; anchors and anchor lines; other boating safety equipment.
• Navigation-- Navigation Rules, Navigation Lights, Night Navigation, Sound Signals, ATONS, Charts, Compass, GPS, Buoy System, Dams, Locks, Bridges.
• SAFELY OPERATING YOUR BOAT OR PWC – Operating, Prepare to Cast Off, Cast Off, Docking, Tying Up, Anchoring, Operating PWC, Using Ignition Safety Switches.
